1. Who May Use KidBook
Only adults aged 18 or older with legal capacity. Accounts are for adults; the experience (reading, watching, listening) may be enjoyed by children under adult supervision. KidBook is NOT a destination site for under-13s.
2. What Data About the Child We Collect
When you create a book, you may provide:
- the child's first name, age, gender (optional), interests;
- 1–3 photos of the child's face for illustration generation;
- optional photos of additional characters (siblings, friends, pets);
- custom story prompts you type in.
3. How We Use It
Strictly to generate YOUR storybook and to keep your account functional. No third-party advertising. No profile building. No resale. Photos are processed by automated face-detection to preserve the child's likeness in illustrations — no human reviews photos without an explicit abuse report.
4. Your Declaration as Parent / Guardian
By continuing you confirm that:
- you are at least 18 years old;
- you are the parent or legal guardian of the child whose data you submit, or you have the explicit written consent of the child's parent / legal guardian;
- you have read our Privacy Policy and consent to the processing described, including automated face detection;
- you are responsible for reviewing each generated book before sharing it with the child.
5. Verifiable Parental Consent
For users subject to COPPA (US children under 13), verifiable consent is obtained via the combination of: (a) acceptance of these terms at signup, (b) payment card verification at checkout (a COPPA-accepted method per §312.5), and (c) a confirmation email after account creation. If your jurisdiction requires a different consent method, contact us before creating a book.
6. Withdrawing Consent
You can delete the child's data at any time by:
- deleting an individual book (removes that book's pages, illustrations and face data);
- deleting your entire account (wipes all books, photos, character records, and orders within 30 days);
- emailing support@kidbook.online to request manual erasure of specific data points.
7. Your Child's Rights
Under GDPR-K, Azerbaijani data protection law and COPPA, you — acting on behalf of the child — may exercise the following rights:
- access the data we hold about the child;
- correct inaccurate data;
- export a copy of the data (data portability);
- restrict or object to processing;
- lodge a complaint with your national data protection authority.
8. Content Safety
Stories and illustrations are AI-generated. Despite automated safety filters, outputs can occasionally contain inaccuracies or unexpected content. Always preview a book before sharing it with the child. Report any inappropriate output to support@kidbook.online — we review these within 24 hours.
